The hosts, KH The Gildemusic, also invited marching bands from the Isle of Wight and the Netherlands.

After parading through the streets of Roeselare, each marching band took turns to occupy the town’s main square and entertain a very appreciative crowd.

Kira plays the euphonium for the band and really enjoyed the trip away.

She said: “I have really enjoyed being part of this year’s VE Day tattoo.

“Enjoying the Belgium experience with these incredible people has been one of the best adventures of my life.”

After their performance, the band attended the Last Post ceremony at Menin Gate, Ypres.

Every evening buglers gather together to honour the memory of WW1 soldiers of the former British Empire and its allies who died in the Ypres Salient.
