A lady from Louth has beaten off 400 ladies at this year’s Ebor Festival at York Races to be crowned the ‘Best Dressed Mature Lady’ on ladies day.
Annie-Marie Leake, 54, impressed judges with her vintage look and specifically loved her ‘Audrey Hepburn’ classic chic style.
Anne-Marie explained to the Leader: “Being crowned the best dressed mature lady at the Ebor Festival at York Races was absolutely amazing, I was so happy.
“It only happened a couple of weeks ago and I’m still smiling, the judges thought my dressed was unique and offered a little something different to what they normally see.
“Dressing up in classic chic is something I really enjoy doing.”
For being the best dressed mature lady, Anne-Marie was awarded with a Gourmet Trotter designer picnic blanket, a ladies black designer hand bag and of course a bottle of champagne to toast her victory.
This isn’t Anne-Marie’s first taster of the races as she took home third place during the ladies day at Market Rasen Race Course in 2012.
Anne-Marie enjoys to shop locally and a substantial amount of her outfit which won her first place was all bought from local businesses in the town.
Anne-Marie added: “My hat, bag and gloves were all bought locally in town. I like to use my local shops as much as possible.
“I customised my dress and my shoes and I enjoy putting the outfits together myself.”
If that wasn’t enough, Anne-Marie has an upcoming competition to look forward to in October.
She wasn’t able to tell us much at this stage, other than that she had been selected as a finalist in this year’s ‘Glamourous Grandma UK’ competition that will be taking place in Essex.
