THIS mystery sea bird was found on Mablethorpe beach on Sunday morning by our eagle-eyed photographer Trevor Bradford.

Trevor said it looked very tired and looked to have blown off course.

Richard Harrington from the Marine Conservation Society said it is an Arctic skua (below), which sometimes land in the Scottish Highlands but aren’t known for their visits as far south as the Lincolnshire coast.

The Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary have taken the bird in, and the sanctuary’s Chloe Drew said it is very thin but is taking on food and antibiotics well.

Chloe said they hoped to get the skua back to full health before releasing it again soon.
