Lacey Gardens Junior School pupil Ashley Houghton has done well in the Primary Mathematics Challenge.
This year 2,100 schools took part in the challenge with 77,000 pupils sitting the paper.
It was said to be one of the toughest papers in the last five years.
Ashley was one of the pupils who scored 21 and above and was asked to take part in the bonus round.
The challenge is popular in schools as it is seen as a way for pupils to really challenge themselves.
