East Midlands Ambulance Service has set up a new scheme to assist with minor injuries and illnesses to help cut unnecessary 999 calls.

Over the next six weeks, highly trained EMAS staff will be operating this new scheme in Mablethorpe to give holidaymakers treatment and advice on minor injuries and illnesses.

The scheme will see crews operate from a purpose built assessment and treatment vehicle which has been fitted out so patients can be treated in an environment very similar to an A&E cubicle.
