Awards for Louth Male Voice Choir

LOUTH Male Voice Choir had great success at the annual Cottingham Methodist Church Musical Festival.

The choir entered in five sections of the choral and singing classes, winning two trophies and coming second in the other three.

Louth won The George W Cockerline Trophy and The H & M Chew Memorial Trophy, both times earning distinction marks, the latter with an outstanding opening solo by second bass Russ Harrison, commented on by adjudicator Marilynne Davies.

Davies also complimented Louth’s accompanist, Gwyn Law, calling him a ‘wizard’, suspecting someone might try to steal him.

The choir thanked Graham Burrell, their musical director, whose steadfast determination and musical direction got them the trophies.
