BEACH hut owners across the country attended a drop in session at Sutton’s Meridale Centre on May 21.

The 65 hut owners were able to gather and share information and join the Owners Association which organises a rota of people who check the huts weekly throughout the year.

On hand to answer questions were Debbie Prince from ELDC Neighbourhood Management, Danny Wilson from ELDC StreetScene, David Short from ELDC Property Services, Flood Warden Graham Parkhurst, PCSO Ian Greenshields, Chris Noble from the Environment Agency, Matthew Briggs and Sean Wilson from TL Risk Solutions and Ann Britz, Beach Hut Co-ordinator.

Debbie Prince, Neighbourhood Projects Officer said: “The day was a huge success with beach hut owners attending from all over the country and all commenting what a useful event it had been. Four people that attended had very recently bought a beach hut and felt that the drop in session was invaluable.”

Organisers now plan to hold the event twice a year.
