Big thumbs up for the Puddle Ducks children

PUDDLE Ducks Pre-school in Alvingham has been given a good grading from Ofsted.

Following a recent inspection they were awarded outstanding marks in three areas with an overall quality achievement of good.

The three areas were - the effectiveness with which the setting deploys resources, the effectiveness of partnerships and the extent to which children adopt healthy lifestyles.

The report said: “Children flourish in a warm and welcoming seting, where their individuality is valued and developed.

“A rich varied imaginative environment contributes significantly to their progress to their learning and decelopment.

“Experienced motivated staff use, in the main, efficient systems to assess children and plan appropriate activities.

“Children’s welfare is enhanced by the positive relationships established with parents and highly effective links with other professionals and providers.

“Children’s understanding of a healthy lifestyle is an exceptionally strong feature of this setting.

“The managers reflect well on the setting, ensuring a good capacity to maintain continuous improvement.”

Puddle Ducks is open all year round offering pre-school sessions and before and after school care from 8am to 6pm, with holiday clubs for two to 11-year-olds.

They offer early years entertainment for two year and three year funding.

Puddle Ducks has a woodland area set up with help from a local farmer and the youngsters enjoyed Forestry Week activities there last week.

The pre-school thank all their staff and parents for their hard work and support. They also wish all their school leavers all the best at their new schools in September.
