RECORD numbers of A and A* grades at Monks’ Dyke Technology College ensured that students are able to take up places at their chosen universities.
Lauren Soules achieved A*,A,A which with an A* in her extended project as well assures her a place at Keble College, Oxford.
Executive Headteacher Dr Chris Rolph said: “Lauren has worked consistently hard for seven years and she thoroughly deserves her place at Oxford - it’s a pleasure to be able to congratulate her.
“And her success demonstrates the reality behind our comprehensive philosophy: we can cater for and support students of all abilities, including the highest achievers, without the need for divisive selection.”
Other students with top grades include Anastasia McGarel (A*,A*,A,B), Paul Coulam (A,A,A,A), Anna Newlove (A,A,A,B) and Ben Godbold (A,A,A,C).
Paul-Arthur Talmard spoke little English when he joined Monks’ Dyke, but has gone on to achieve a remarkable set of grades (A,A,B,C).
