Two young men from Mablethorpe have been killed in a head-on collision in the Chapel St Leonards area yesterday evening (Thursday September 11).
Emergency services were called to the scene at Hogsthorpe Road at around 7pm after a black Renault Clio had been in collision with a silver Vauxhall Astra.
The 21-year-old Clio driver and a 19-year-old front seat passenger, both from Mablethorpe, were killed.
Another passenger in the Clio, a 23-year-old local man, was taken to hospital in Boston and was later transferred to Queen’s Medical Centre with serious injuries while another passenger, a 21-year-old local man, was taken to hospital in Grimsby.
The driver of the Astra, a man believed to be 70 years old and from South Yorkshire, was also killed.
The road was closed until about 3.15am today (Friday September 12).
Lincolnshire Police say that this brings the number of people killed on Lincolnshire’s roads so far this year to 23, compared with 24 at the same time last year.
