The Ark Animal Rescue and Retirement Home in North Somercotes has benefitted from a £393 boost in funds to help with their running costs.

Sue Rice and Rose Frampton from The Ark accepted the money from the team at Buckets equine and pet foods in Louth and Allan Heath equine vets in Legbourne.

The two businesses together held two client evenings to educate people about horses and also held a raffle and tombola to raise money for The Ark.

The Ark also brought along two animals to the cheque presentation held last week in the hope of giving them some extra exposure to try and find them a loving home.

Sue Rice from The Ark said: “We brought two animals with us in the hope we can draw them into the public eye and find them a home.”

The Ark have Trixie (7), the Stafford Bull Terrier, who has been reserved four times, but still hasn’t found a home and Albert the Lionhead male rabbit, who also needs someone to love him.
