A LIVE music night will raise money in memory of much loved Fulstow footballer, Russ Maddison, who died playing the game he loved last year.
Russ tragically died in October 2011 playing football in Louth, and after being involved in local sport for many years his presence is sadly missed.
His family set up the Russ Maddison Sports Foundation to continue the good work he started to promote sporting opportunities for teams in the local area.
The foundation has already made contributions back in to the sporting local community and trustees are currently looking through other requests for monetary support.
Local band the Bush Doctors will perform at Fulstow Village Hall this Friday, September 14, as band member Richard Askam was Russ’ next door neighbour for 11 years.
“They wanted to give their support for this event as Russ was a great guy and a well known face locally,” said Russ’ neice Claire Chapman.
“Russ had also supported the band over the last 12 years, visiting many of their gigs with his partner Caz.”
Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets are £10 each available on the night, at www.russmaddison.org.uk or through Matthew Chapman on 07739 013189. The ticket prices includes entry into a raffle.
