American giant gets Louth company

A Louth company has been acquired by an American giant.

Martin Manufacturing (UK) has been on Belvoir Way on the Fairfield Industrial Estate since 1999 and the facility is now under the Harman brand.

The company has built up an international reputation for the design, manufacture and distribution of fog technology, machines and smoke fluids to the entertainment and security industries.

Their fog systems boast a range of machines and fluid types to create fog effects from heavy low fog to thin quick dispensing mist that allows lighting designers to create special effects in theatres, movies and TV studies.

Martin have recently been nominated for Lincolnshire and Rutland Skills awards employer of the year for their commitment to training their talented 50 employees.

The company also sponsors Louth basketball team Storm.

Martin Manufacturing (UK) Plc’s main customer is the parent undertaking Martin Professional A/S who produce computer controlled lighting, also called ‘intelligent lighting’, used throughout all sectors of the entertainment industry.

Martin’s application, with their products in smoke machines gives the company the ability to offer a wider entertainment package.

The most important customer is MSS Professional, which sells Smokecloak machines to the security industry. Smokecloak is a device that fills a building with a dense artificial smoke or vapour – security fog so thick that the criminal is forced to leave the premises.

The Martin Professional A/S group that the company forms part of has been bought by Harman International Industries, Incorporated, a company registered in the USA.

Harman designs, manufactures and markets a wide range of audio and infotainment solutions for the automotive, consumer and professional markets.

More than 25 million cars on the road today are equipped with Harman audio and infotainment systems. Harman’s workforce is employed across the Americas, Europe and Asia.
