New boutique Tillett’s has opened a branch in Louth this week, following the success of their shops in Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
Owner Melanie Tillett and her team (daughter Grace Tillett and friend Libby Maultby, who went to school in Louth) celebrated with a grand opening party on Tuesday March 11.
Tillett’s replaces Spinning Wheel Boutique, which occupied the spot in Mercer Row for 35 years. Spinning Wheel’s newly-retired owners, Gerry and Vera Garside, attended the opening ceremony as guests of honour, with Gerry cutting the ribbon.
Gerry said: “We only shut Spinning Wheel since just before Christmas. I’m pleased that it’s already reopened, as a clothes shop.
He added: “The new owners are good people, in a good site, so good luck!”
Melanie Tillett said: “We have been open for a week or so. We weren’t planning to, but people kept seeing stuff through our windows so we let them in!
“The people of Louth have been fantastic and really welcoming, they are very friendly.
“We saw some comments on the ‘Move Louth Forward’ Facebook group saying that there’s not a lot in Louth, so I think we have shown great confidence by coming here. But really, there’s always something on offer and people are always bustling around in the town.”
Melanie added: “There will always be a Tillett in Tillett’s”, as either herself or one of her two daughters plan to be at the branch during all opening hours.
Tillett’s can be found at 28-30 Mercer Row, and is open from 9am-5.30pm from Monday to Saturday.
Opening offer: Spend £30 in the Louth branch before the end of March, and receive a £10 voucher to spend in April.
