A Mablethorpe business woman wants to give back to the community by setting up a theatre group in the town inspired by her daughter.

Sammi Newell of Mablethorpe wants to bring a mixed theatre class into the town for children ranging from the ages of 4-16 years.

Sammi has already established herself to be quite the business whiz after securing a place to work during London Fashion Week last year doing the nails of catwalk models.

Plus she was also recently awarded a Gold PHAB in the hair and beauty industry.

This is a equivalent to restaurant Michelin Stars and Gold is at present, the highest standard you can achieve.

Sammi is also the first person in Lincolnshire to receive one of these awards.

Sammi commented: “Now that my daughter is getting older, she was my inspiration to start up a theatre group for the local community.

“This is my way of giving something back and to open an extra door of opportunity for something to do for the children in the area.

“I thought this would be a great idea as there doesn’t seem to be much for children in this age gap to do in Mablethorpe.

“Having come from a theatre background myself, this seemed like a great starting point to set something up.

“I want to jump straight in with the theatrical aspect and I would like to move on into dance also in the future.

“I am currently looking for a dance instructor who would be willing to volunteer some of their time so we can introduce dance into the group.

This new group will by run by a group of volunteers who have been kindly given permission to use the Smarty Pants Nursery in Ruskin Road.

Sammi added: “This class will be open to both boys and girls and the first project we will be starting on is Mamma Mia, which is very exciting.

“I have already been informed that our group will have the opportunity to perform at the towns grand illuminations event and the Bathing Beauties Festival.”

Sammi will be having two audition sessions to get the group up and running on Tuesday May 7 and Wednesday May 8 at Smarty Pants Nursery from 5.30pm-7pm.

If you are interested in attending one of the audition sessions or want to find out anymore general information on the new theatre group, then please give Sammi a call on 07506 512209.
