Some of Lincolnshire’s finest foods were on display at The International Food Event in London.

Returning to the UK’s largest trade show for food and drink for the fourth time, Lincolnshire County Council was ‘delighted’ with the level of interest in Lincolnshire’s food.

The show attracts approximately 26,000 visitors and is a renowned diary date in the UK’s food industry. As part of the business support that Select Lincolnshire extends to county food related businesses – the project took space at the event and filled it with a range of companies who operate in the Lincolnshire food and drink sector. Select Lincolnshire was placed firmly at the centre of the English Food Pavilion at the show.

Businesses represented included Lindum Construction Food Projects, The National Centre of Food Manufacturing, Chapmans Fishcakes, Scrubbys Crisps, The Dip Society, Pocklingtons Bakery, Lymn Bank Farm Cheeses, Grantham Gingerbread, Keys of Lincolnshire, plus many more.

Exuberant chef Rachel Green took to the show’s English Kitchen and entertained visitors each day with a series of cookery demonstrations – extolling the virtues and quality of the great Lincolnshire ingredients we have available here in the county.

Of course – sausages were on the menu! – but complimented by many more great flavours of the county including Lincoln Red beef, the finest speciality vegetables, and stunning fish dishes from Great Grimsby.

In addition to the thousands of trade guests, a high profile Ministerial visit proved successful as Minister of State for Agriculture and Food David Heath MP was welcomed to the Select Lincolnshire exhibition stand. He was greeted by Jill McCarthy, Business Investment Manager at Lincolnshire County Council.
