AFTER a late flurry of votes, Lincolnshire food lovers were left celebrating after winning the Best British Food Spot award from Love British Food.
Lincolnshire and Cornwall were battling it out for top spot, but Lincolnshire finished four per cent ahead with 39.6 per cent of the overall voting.
A social media campaign was launched by the East Lindsey District Council on Twitter, encouraging people to vote for Lincolnshire.
ELDC Leader, Coun Doreen Stephenson, said: “We are very lucky to live in a county with people so passionate about the food they produce and this result is a tribute to their efforts and hard work. Thank you to everyone who joined our social media campaign and made sure that our county’s producers received the recognition they deserved in this competition.”
