Compass Point maps the way to £1.4m saving for East Lindsey taxpayers

TAXPAYERS in East Lindsey have saved £1.4 million thanks to a new approach to finance by East Lindsey District Council.

Compass Point Business Services began providing IT, HR, finance, customer services and revenues and benefits services to the district councils of East Lindsey and South Holland in August 2010.

A £2.1 million saving has been made in its first year, £1.4 million to East Lindsey.

ELDC has needed to save £5.7 million in the past two years with a further £1.6 million needed in 2013/14, and the local authority say that such measures as the use of Compass Point means local people are more protected from spending cuts.

Coun Victoria Ayling, Portfolio Holder for Corporate Services at ELDC, commented: “Compass Point Business Services has done what it set out to do – deliver a £1.4m saving, which will increase by a further five per cent year on year.

“This is good news. We need to build on this success going forwards.”
