News that the number of people claiming Job Seekers Allowance in Louth and Horncastle has fallen by 432 since April last year has been welcomed by the constituency’s MP Victoria Atkins

It represents the lowest number of claimants since May 2010, with youth unemployment (the number of 18-24 year olds claiming JSA) also falling substantially, by 39.7 per cent over the same period.

Mrs Atkins said: “I am delighted that the recent figures published show unemployment continues to fall both in Louth and Horncastle and nationally.

These figures meant that 432 more people here in Louth and Horncastle now have the security of a regular pay packet which is excellent for both those individuals and our local economy.”
