Louth businessman’s chance meeting with the Prime Minister

Louth sweet shop owner Nick Heywood and his family enjoyed a chance meeting with Prime Minister David Cameron in Downing Street last week,

The visit was arranged ‘last minute’ by Cleethorpes MP Martin Vickers who had asked Mr Cameron for a signed bottle of House of Commons wine as a fundraising item for When You Wish Upon a Star, for who Jassies owner Nick’s wife Joanne is the regional fundraising manager.

On hearing that the Heywood family were in London, Mr Vickers asked the Prime Minister would be prepared to present tje wome personally in recognition of the charity work that is done for the charity in the area.

The PM duly obliged and shared his passion for cycling with the Heywoods’ daughter Rebecca Wright, who has undertaken several handcycling events for charity.
