THE Country Tea Room in Louth has been named as the first five star rated food outlet in the town under the East Lindsey District Council’s new hygiene scheme.
The new ‘scores on the doors’ scheme was launched earlier this year by the district council and businesses could apply for the chance to have the rating.
And the tea room in Queen Street flew through a hygiene inspection and owner Marian Sharp is now proudly displaying the certificate of recognition in her window.
Marian, who has owned the business for two and a half years, said: “I was really shocked to be the first business and I’m honoured. I’m really meticulous when it comes to being clean and as I work entirely on my own it means it’s easy to be organised and keep things in order.”
The Country Tea Room sells home made cakes and customers can enjoy them inside or take them away. They also take special orders for parties.
