Tesco keen to get final terms for Mablethorpe store agreed

TESCO are hoping for a speedy resolution to negotiations over their proposed new superstore in Station Road, Mablethorpe.

East Lindsey District Council’s planning committee said in December that they were ‘mindful to approve’ the application subject to a number of issues which need to be resolved.

This includes a new sports centre for the town in Stanley Avenue via an S106 agreement.

There were also concerns raised regarding the design of the store, and the siting of the war memorial and market.

Talks between Tesco and the planning team are ongoing.

Tesco’s Louise Gosling said: “We are working with planning officers to resolve the final issues before we go back to committee, which we hope to do as soon as possible.

“Once the final approval has been granted for the food store we will be in a position to submit the plans for the new sports centre on Stanley Avenue.”
