Several local businesses achieved moderate success in Select Lincolnshire’s Food, Drink & Hospitality 2015/16 awards yesterday evening (October 27) - but unfortunately, none quite managed to win their categories.
Businesses receiving a ‘highly commended’ award in their categories included Pocklington’s Bakery in Withern (Producer of the Year), Brackenborough Hall Coach House in Louth (Self-Catering of the Year), West View B&B Cottages in South Cockerington (B&B of the Year), Seacroft Holiday Estate Bar in Trusthorpe (Pub of the Year), and LJ Fairburn and Son in Alford (Business of the Year).
Sadly, none of the local businesses replicated the success of the 2014/15 awards, where Pocklington’s Bakery won Wholesaler of the Year and Seacroft Holiday Estate’s bar in Trusthorpe won Pub of the Year.
The prestigious awards ceremony took place at the new Riseholme College Showground Campus.
County Councillor Colin Davie, Executive Member for Economic Development, said: “We’ve had some fantastic winners this year, proving yet again that Lincolnshire’s food and drink is some of the best in the world.
“Select Lincolnshire will continue to do all it can to spread the word about all the county has to offer.”
