Police are investigating a cable theft that took place in South Cockerington shortly before midnight on Monday evening (December 15).
Police were alerted to a power outage in the area at around 11.55pm on Monday, thanks to three vigilant members of the public. Officers attended the scene immediately and found that a cable theft had occurred.
A vehicle which may have been involved in this theft has been recovered, and is awaiting forensic examination.
Other police enquiries are still ongoing in relation to this crime, and further updates will be released when they are available.
Police have reminded members of the public to report any suspicious behaviour near overhead power lines by dialling 101, or 999 in an emergency.
