Marsh Medical Practice has recently been recognised for the work it does supporting unpaid carers. The practice, which has two surgeries in Manby and North Somercotes received the Lincolnshire Carers Quality Award from the Lincolnshire based organisation, Every-One.

Every-One work to support unpaid carers and those they care for throughout Lincolnshire.

The Carers Quality Award is funded by the Lincolnshire County Council Health and Wellbeing Board.

The work has been led by GP Dr Carl Deaney and Elizabeth Goolden, special projects coordinator, assisted by Ann Cahill.

Dr Carl Deaney said they were delighted to have achieved the Lincolnshire Carers Quality Award. “We have a high proportion of patients who have caring responsibilities,” Dr Deaney said.

“The work they do is invaluable so we must ensure they are receiving appropriate support themselves.”

Ms Goolden said: “Working towards the Carers Award has had a great impact on the surgery. As well as ensuring we meet their healthcare needs, we now have a wide range of info to ensure our carers receive the help they need.”
