THE SUTTON on Sea and Trusthorpe Carnival winners were rewarded for their efforts over the weekend with a special awards night.
The presentations tooks place at the Sutton on Sea Social Club on Sunday evening honouring the clubs and individuals that made the carnival a success.
Being described as a ‘resounding success’, the carnival took place back in July.
Organisers Jeff Smith and Peter Hawkyard have decided to hang up their hats for carnival duty and hope this year’s successful event won’t be the last.
Chairman Jeff Smith said: “I won’t be involved from next year. I’ve been doing it for six years as chairman plus a further four, but it’s time to call it a day.
“We’ll be holding our AGM in September and I really hope some other people will come forward and take it on, I’d like to think this won’t be the carnival’s last year.”
