Charity me&dee has secured a partnership with Whispering Waters Caravan Park in order for people’s last wishes of a trip to the seaside to be a reality.
Maria Hanson who runs the Derbyshire based charity chose Mablethorpe in order to give the clients she works with a trip to the seaside they would never forget.
She set up me&dee with her cousin Delia, who sadly passed away before the idea became a reality.
Maria explained: “Being a disabled woman myself, I know all too well that special treats come to the bottom of the priority list when a friend or loved one is terminally ill.”
Since launching me& dee, Maria has helped with over 600 different cases where time is precious for people with life threatening and shortening conditions.
With popularity for this process as high in demand as ever, Maria has decided to move into a different direction.
She added: “My new direction is to be able to offer families and couples the opportunity to make memories, smiles and footprints in the sand for when time is precious by the seaside.”
But in order for this opportunity to become reality, Maria needed some help. And Whispering Waters Caravan Park were more than happy to lend a hand.
“After meeting with Don Amott and his daughter Samantha, they both wanted to help and made an amazing offer,” Maria said.
Managing director of Whispering Waters, Samantha Heap, has provided the charity with a brand new caravan for the future seaside trips that Maria will organise.
“It was humbling to be in a position to make a dream come true for the me&dee charity,” she said.
