Expressive Arts and Music students at Monks’ Dyke Technology College performed a Christmas Showcase to a packed hall in Louth.
The college orchestra, comprising of ten musically talented students, opened the evening with a medley of Christmas carols and songs.
This was followed by the Drama Club performing an extract from the well-known play Bugsy Malone. After a quick change Kelsey Cox, who also had taken part in the Bugsy performance, next entertained the audience with her rendition of the seasonal classic Let It Snow.
Megan Johnson gave a scintillating performance of the song Dreams.
As 2012 had been a special year for sport, no concert would have been complete without a mention of the successful Olympics Games and this one was no exception. The Year 10, 11 and 12 students performed a contemporary dance from the Opening Ceremony of the Games. Mrs Marritt, Teacher of Dance, arranged the routine to the music of Abide with Me, sung by Emeli Sande.
Next came the Year 10 and 11 drama students with The Worst Christmas Ever and then students danced a samba to the tune Merry Christmas Everyone by Steps. A dance, choreographed by the Year 12 students, from Fire and Ice had the audience mesmerised.
The evening came to a close with three dances choreographed by Beth Smith, Kayleigh Avis and Ashley Standland.
