Co-operative raises £3,000 for Mencap

STAFF at the Co-operative store in Louth are the company’s biggest fundraisers in the area for Mencap, the charity that supports young people with learning disabilities.

The team at the store in Northgate managed to raise more than £3,000 for the charity by organising a range of events and collections throughout the year.

Every penny raised will be used to launch Inspire Me – a new project to provide activities and training that will give young people with a learning disability the chance to learn new skills and gain access to employment and volunteering opportunities in their communities.

UK-wide, the Co-operative Group has raised over £7 million during its year-long charity partnership with Mencap, and its sister charity ENABLE Scotland.
