AS we move into storm season, the county’s emergency response agencies are encouraging communities to make sure they have taken steps to prepare for flooding.
With the 60th anniversary of the 1953 East Coast floods also fast approaching, to help raise awareness of the important of being prepared, East Lindsey District Council, the Environment Agency and Lincolnshire County Council are launching a six month campaign.
This will aim to increase the number of households that have completed a flood plan and signed up to receive flood warnings.
Head of Emergency Planning, David Powell said: “We have developed plans and prcedures to protect and evacuate people in the event of flooding, and we regularly practice these to ensure their effectiveness.”
“Only by working in partnership can we prevent the risk of flooding.”
