TELEVISION’S Colin Young will be in Louth later in the month to give expert advice on the value of antiques, from the treasure granny left to a bargain picked up at a car boot sale.
Colin, who is a familiar face on the BBC’s popular Flog It programme, will be giving his expert opinion on all things old at Louth Town Hall on Sunday October 23 as part of the Louth Victorian Family Fayre.
The event, which is organised by the Rotary Club of Louth, will run from 10am through to 4pm. Colin will be accompanied by John Leat, his fellow presenter and auctioneer from the Lincoln based auction house Golding Young Thomas Mawer.
And just as with the television programme Flog It, it will be possible to leave your items to be sold at auction if you like the valuation provided.
There will be a nominal valuation fee of £2 per item and the monies raised will go to local charities.
Colin and John are very kindly giving their time for free in order to support these worthy causes. As a bonus, for each item valued your name will be entered into a draw to win an antique.
To get the weekend off to a flying start, Colin will be the guest speaker at a dinner to be held at Kenwick Golf Club on Friday October 21, 7pm for 7.30pm.
He will be giving an after dinner talk on his fascinating life in the world of antiques. The event is open to all and anyone wanting to book a place should ring Andrew on 01507 6008210.
