Alleged Louth Specsavers thief bailed after arrest
A LOUTH man has been bailed for alleged shoplifting and assault after an incident on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old was apprehended by some members of the public after allegedly stealing sunglasses from Specsavers in Mercer Row shortly after 3pm on April 11.
He also allegedly assaulted a member of the public who attempted to stop him fleeing.
Police arrived on the scene and arrested the man at the Fish Shambles who has been bailed until Wednesday, May 9 pending further enquiries.
