BREAKING NEWS: Jewellers burgled in Louth

THREE offenders broke into the jewellers in Eastgate, Louth at approximately 4.30am this morning.

Night shift officers on routine patrol discovered the burglary in progress at the shop.

The offenders gained access to the jewellers using an axe to smash the door and display cabinets within. Two of the offenders are described as men in dark clothing, approximately five feet eight inches tall who managed to run from the scene but the third was arrested and a bag of jewellery recovered.

The offender caught was a 25-year-old Nottingham man who was arrested on suspicion of burglary and resisting arrest.

The burglars were known to be using a red Ford Ka which had been stolen from a property in North Somercotes earlier.
