Mablethorpe man awaits sentence at crown court after resort ABH

A Mablethorpe man has been sent for sentencing at Lincoln Crown Court after admitting assaulting a man and causing him actual bodily harm.

Daniel Oxby, 24, of Waterloo Road, admitted assaulting Matthew Rickards in High Street, Mablethorpe on August 18, after appearing at Skegness Magistrates Court.

The court heard Rickards was on a night out when he tried to break up a dispute. Paul Wood, prosecuting, said Oxby came over and hit Mr Rickards, knocking him to the ground and kicked him in the face. Mr Rickards suffered a broken bone in the wrist and was unconscious. Mr Wood said the incident was caught on cctv.

Magistrates ruled their sentencing powers were not sufficient so Oxby and will be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court on July 2. He was granted unconditional bail.
