Man arrested after Louth arson attempt

POLICE have arrested a man in connection with the attempted arson attack which took place in Louth in the early hours of this morning.

Two fire crews attended a fire in Monks Dyke Road in Louth shortly after 1am.

The fire was self extinguished and fire crews carried out an inspection only.

It was severe damage by fire to the front door of a property and it was confirmed that the cause was deliberate.

A 46-year-old man from Louth was subsequently arrested on suspicion of attempted arson with intent to endanger life.

He is currently being interviewed at Skegness Police Station.
