Man who stole from Mablethorpe Co-op had drunk ‘18 or 19 pints’
AFTER drinking at least 18 pints of beer on Christmas Eve, an 18-year-old Mablethorpe youth stole two bottles of spirits from a local supermarket.
Michael Luke Walker, of Kings Court, admitted theft when he appeared before magistrates at Skegness.
The court was told that Walker was seen on cctv images to go into the Co-op in Seacroft Road on December 24 and steal a bottle of Jack Daniels and one of bacardi, which he concealed under his coat and then left the store.
After being identified by the police from the images, he was arrested and told officers he had drunk 18 or 19 pints and couldn’t remember anything.
In defence, Mr Gordon Holt said he was a young man on Christmas Eve who had taken too much alcohol and had stolen the spirits and left without paying.
The magistrates conditionally discharged Walker for 12 months and ordered he pay compensation of £32 and court costs of £85.
