Motorists warned after thieves steal from parked car in Louth

Police are reminding motorists about not leaving anything on display after valuables were taken from a parked car in Louth.

In a brief ten minute window between 5.40pm and 5.50pm on Wednesday December 5, the offender smashed the window of a blue Volkswagen Golf, parked on High Holme Road in the town, and stole a handbag containing a purse, cheque books and bank cards.

PC Crombie warned motorists of the ease at which such offences can take place.

He said: ”An opportunist thief can take advantage of the briefest opportunity so it is important to make sure that no valuables are left in sight, even for a moment.

“Any witnesses to this incident are asked to contact me by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 319 of December 5.”
