Police drink and drug driving campaign swings into action

LINCOLNSHIRE Police are launching their drink and drug driving campaign as the festive season approaches.

Highly visible roadside checks will be in operation across the local area in mornings, evenings and through the night.

As well as breathalister checks, Police will carry out Field Impairment (FIT) tests to check for drug use.

Chief Inspector Kieran English said: “People in Lincolnshire have, for too long, had their families torn apart by the spectre of drink and drug driving.”

In the past year six people have died and more than 70 people injured in collisions on Lincolnshire Roads where drink and drugs were contributory factors.
