Police warn of bogus sellers after elderly Louth woman targetted

POLICE have issued a warning for people to be on their guard after an eldery woman in Louth was targetted by a pair of bogus salesmen.

A man called at the address of a 95 year old woman in Welbeck Way, Louth shortly before 3pm on Thursday, July 21.

The salesman coerced the woman into parting with over £200 on her doorstep for a bag of items including dusters, which were priced far in excess of their worth.

Police say the salesman was approximately five feet eight inches tall, of thin build with short dark hair and was wearing dark blue overalls or tracksuit. He carried a large navy holdall and was in company with a second man who may have had fair hair. Both men were in their 20s.
