Police say four men aged in their 20s are in custody in connection with a suspected stolen car which was found abandoned in Fulstow after a police chase.

Four men were arrested in Marschapel by Lincolnshire Police on Monday and transported to Grimsby Police Station where they currently remain in custody.

Humberside Police say three of the men are aged 23 and one is 27.

According to police, the black Citroen Xsara was suspected to have been stolen from Grimsby and had passed over the border from the Humberside Police force area and into Lincolnshire in the early hours of the morning.

The car was later abandoned and recovered and found in Fulstow at around 10.30am.

Monday update: There was a large police presence in the Louth area this morning as officers tracked a suspected stolen car to the village, later finding it abandoned in Fulstow.

According to Lincolnshire Police, the black Citroen Xsara was suspected to have been stolen from Grimsby and had passed over the border from the Humberside Police force area and into Lincolnshire in the early hours of this morning.

The car was later abandoned and recovered and found in Fulstow at around 10.30am. The car has since been taken away.

Police have now arrested four male suspects in Marshchapel in connection with the incident.

A Lincolnshire Police statement said: “There were a number of police vehicles involved in the search which covered a large area - this would account for the presence in Tetney.

“Lincolnshire Police were alerted by Humberside Police to a car that had been stolen overnight from an address in Grimsby.

“The black Citroen Xsara was believed to have entered Lincolnshire in the early hours of the morning. It was recovered, having been abandoned, at around 10.30 in Fulstow.”
