PUT your foot to the pedal and get on your bike to support Boston’s Butterfly Hospice Trust (BHT) this weekend.
The third annual BHT Cycle Ride from Lincoln to Boston takes place on Sunday.
Participants can cycle either the 33-mile route along the River Witham Water Rail Way Cycle Path or alternatively a shorter nine-mile route from the Witham Tavern, Boston, to Langrick and back.
The longer route starts at Waterside South, in Lincoln, and takes cyclists through picturesque locations such as Bardney, Stickwould, Langrick Bridge, Woodhall Spa, Kirkstead Bridge and Holland Fen.
The event is open to everyone including those who do not have sponsorship but just want a leisurely bike ride.
Organiser Carol Davis said: “Some individuals do it for leisure and take their families along, others want to beat the time they did last year.
“People have different agendas in how they approach the day.”
The event will include refreshments and toilet stops and marshals will attend places where the route joins the main road.
When cyclists reach the end there will be a barbecue, cake stall, and other food and drink.
All proceeds go to the Butterfly Hospice Trust.
