COULD a mini earthquake have caused homes in Mablethorpe to lose power for four hours on Monday night?
A total of 24 properties around the Waterloo Road area were in the dark from 8.30pm until 12.30am.
Michael Clarke, from electricity provider Western Power, said a cable fault was the reason behind the power cut. He told the Leader that a team of engineers was being sent to the area to investigate further and find out the cause of the fault.
One reader said that streetlights were flashing and that they felt a strange ‘mini earthquake’ type of vibration underfoot as the power went out.
Although Western Power said they had no reports of such an occurrence, they did promise to look into the matter further.
