IT was party time for the members of the Wragby branch of Disability Lincs when they met in the town hall for their usual weekly get-together and they enjoyed extra festive refreshments and entertained themselves by singing a selection of Christmas Carols to recorded music.

Christmas Christmas cards were exchanged and the members were all given a card produced by leader Jessica Foster on behalf of the committee which included all the dates for the monthly social days in 2012 starting with the hot lunches in January, February and March and continuing with suggestions for coach outings from April to November, ending in December with a coach trip for the annual Christmas lunch.

The fundraising events of Easter and Autumn Coffee Mornings and a Strawberry Tea in July are included on the programme as the proceeds raised pay for the ambulance coach which takes the members and their guests on their trips out to the chosen places of interest. The coach/ambulance which has been provided over the years to collect members from their homes and ferry them to the town hall for their weekly meetings and return them afterwards came to an end in the spring as the County Council had to cut services due to a reduction in Government funding. Those who were able made their own way to the hall during the summer months with others being given assistance and all are pleased to learn that Jessica Foster is now arranging for Call Connect to pick up those who need help with transport on a weekly basis.

A bus pass is all that is needed for this excellent service which collects members from their homes and returns them at the end of the meeting. The meetings will resume on Tuesday January 10 at the town hall.
