Dog micro chipping session

DOG owners can get their pooch micro chipped for just £10 at an upcoming Sutton on Sea event.

The scheme, organised by East Lindsey District Council, aims to get more and more dogs micro chipped to ensure lost pets can be reunited with their owners immediately.

The chip is inserted into the dog’s shoulder blade, causing no discomfort and is about the size of a grain of rice. It consists of a small computer chip housed in a type of glass made to be compatible with the dog’s tissue.

Most veterinary clinics and animal shelters are able to use scanners to detect the chip and obtain the owner’s details immediately.

The session will take place at Sutton’s Meridale Hall on Tuesday June 14 between 10.30am and 12.30pm. For more information call the East Lindsey Council on 01507 601111 or e-mail dog.warden@e-lindsey.gov.uk.
