The victim of Leanne Grantham - who was sentenced to 12 months behind bars yesterday after committing assault and arson - has spoken out following the sentencing.

Hayley Hinman, who was in a relationship with Grantham when the attack took place on April 18, said: “I’m pleased with the outcome.”

She added: “I’m also pleased that domestic violence has been recognised and dealt with correctly through the courts, especially with a same sex couple.

“Domestic violence needs to end - it’s an awful thing to go through.

“For me and my family, today is a huge celebration that we’ve had justice.”
