To mark Dying Matters Awareness Week Lincolnshire Co-operative’s Louth Funeral Home in Eastgate will have an open day on Saturday May 18, between 10am and 3pm.
Dying Matters is a national organisation with the slogan ‘Let’s talk about it’.
Its main aim is to change people’s attitudes and behaviours towards death.
Members include NHS organisations, funeral directors, care providers and faith groups and during the awareness week, events will be held across the country. They say because we don’t really talk about death openly, it can be hard to know how to deal with it when it happens. By holding open days at its funeral homes, Lincolnshire Co-op aims to promote openness and communication to break down those barriers.
It’s also an opportunity to find out more about the range of services available from woodland burials to eco-coffins.
