Pupils at East Ravendale CE Primary School enjoyed a ‘cinematastic’ event last month after seven-year-old Isabella Smith came up with the idea to help raise money for the Ark Animal Rescue and Retirement Home in North Somercotes.

Isabella and her friends organised the event, supported by headteacher Mr Mottram, and the children enjoyed a film with drinks and popcorn.

A total of £46 was raised, and the cheque was presented to Amy from the Ark on October 1 when she visited the school to give a special talk, alongside Luna the rescued dog.
