Pupils at Kidgate Primary Academy have done their bit to raise money for Children in Need.

Children donated money as they arrived at school this morning, and marked the occasion by wearing their own choice of clothes, facepaint and Pudsey ears.

Children in Need broadcasted its first appeal in 1927 and developed into an annual event. Over the last 85 years, the campaign has raised hundreds of millions of pounds to help improve the lives of children across the country.
