GREENWICH House Independent School in Louth is looking forward to 2012 with great excitement.
Within the varied programme of activities is the unique opportunity to be involved in the Olympic Torch Relay.
Teacher Arran Brindle will be a torch bearer in recognition of her work in international and local sport.
Greenwich House School constantly strives to develop well-rounded pupils who understand the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
The school has seized on the London Olympic 2012 philosophy by setting up a physical activity challenge. Each participating group of school parents, staff and pupils must cover 2,018 miles (the approximate distance from Athens to Louth) prior to the arrival of the torch in the town on June 27.
It is also delighted to be hosting one of the first events to receive accreditation from East Lindsey Live. The Olympic Village celebration will take place at the school on Saturday, May 19.
It will further develop links with the community and emphasise the Olympic message.
A school spokesman said: “It is great that East Lindsey District Council is supporting events across the district and we are looking forward to welcoming even more visitors as a result of their support.”
