Pupils at Kidgate Primary Academy in Louth have taken to the ballot boxes to elect their new school council.

Pupils hit the campaign trail as they vied for two spots on the council for each class.

Voting was held in the school hall and was officiated over by year six pupils.

The winning candidates were then presented with gold sweatshirts by the Mayor of Louth, Councillor Jill Makinson-Sanders and have formed the new council.
